AMP (Assess My Program) is a system developed by Dr. Arijit Sengupta, Associate Dean at Florida International University College of Business, to automate the assessment process of Information Systems programs at Wright State University. Before commercializing AMP, Dr. Sengupta is piloting the system with programs in need of an assessment system.
AMP was developed by Dr. Arijit Sengupta, when he was a faculty member of the College of Business at Wright State University.
AMP is not meant to replace your course management system, or whatever assessment platform you use for performing online tests. There is no capability of performing tests in AMP, and there is never going to be such capability. AMP is meant for storing and analyzing data from existing assessment methods - whether they are online quizzes, papers, essays, whatever. You continue to use your current method of performing assessment. After the assessment tasks are performed, you can enter the resulting data in AMP and AMP performs all the subsequent analysis that is needed for assessment reports.
You can email a request to info@smartrfsolutions.com for a demo account.
AMP is not a released commercial product (yet). It is still a pre-alpha release and will likely go through some time of development and testing before being released commercially. Right now you can get a pilot account and use the demo system. All the data that you enter into the system will be retained so if we do go to a commercial product, you will be given the option of importing the pilot data into your production system. We are most likely going to survey pilot users to determine what kind of pricing schemes will be preferable, and pilot users will definitely receive major discounts for using AMP.
Not right now. However, the released version will have that capability. You will be able to install AMP in a Web Server that you manage. Note that custom installation will likely have higher fees and you will be responsible for backing up and restoring the data.
A release installation of AMP will have that ability. Currently the administration of the demo edition is performed by us. If you need multiple users in your program, please ask. Please note that we have a limit of 5 users for demo and pilot accounts.
AMP has this ability, but the demo accounts are restricted to semester terms.
While this release of AMP is fairly stable, there may still be bugs. Remember though, that the data in AMP is always secure in a database server, so you will never lose data. If there is a crash, AMP will automatically go into an Error reporting screen. We do ask that you submit the error report along with any additional information that you can add about what caused this error.
Please send us an error report through the Error report screen. We will try to get back with you as soon as we figure out what caused the error.
Deleting is a potentially dangerous operation. While AMP provides delete (X) buttons for many of the data items, some of them have other associated data that will prevent it from getting inadvertently deleted. To avoid this, think about what can be associated with that data that you are trying to delete. For example, when deleting a section, you may need to check if the section has some assessment data already entered. If so, delete the assessment data first. Then you will be able to delete the section.
